Pedro Gamino (Ballet)
Pedro Gamino joined AABD in 2015 after a 14 year professional career that spanned across the country and included four different companies. A San Francisco native, he received his classical ballet training at the Academy of Ballet under the direction of Richard Gibson and Zory Karah. He also trained in Modern and Jazz with School of the Arts High School SF under Elvia Marta. After high school, Pedro moved to NYC where he was accepted into the School of American Ballet. He began his professional career in SF with Smuin Ballet for four seasons under the direction of Emmy and Tony Award winner, Michael Smuin. Pedro moved to OH for a stint with Dayton Ballet and then to NJ with American Repertory Ballet under the direction of Graham Lustig. He then moved to Atlanta with his now wife Abigail to join Atlanta Ballet where he danced for five seasons.
Pedro has danced ballets by notable choreographers, Amy Seiwert, Shannon Hulbert, Septime Webre, Stephan Mills, Val Caniperoli, Lisa De Rubeire, Twyla Tharp, John McFall, Helen Pickett, Michael Pink, Annabelle Ochoa, James Kadelka, David Bently, Ohad Naharin, Jorma Elo.
